Pixelated Text in VS10
I am making a video for a client and importing all the MiniDV tapes into VS using the avi format. I then go in and add my music, title pages, etc. and then create a new video file with the same project properties (avi). When I do that, it creates a file for me to view using my video viewer (BSPlayer or Windows Media Player) and when I do that, the text on the title pages are very pixelated. I can still read what it says, but it is not very clear. I have broken the video into chapters, and the first 6 chapters are mpeg because they were on 8mm and those texts are crystal clear. But the avi texts are not. Is there anything I am doing wrong here? Please let me know. The font sizes are anywhere from 60-80, only because the only thing I am putting on there is the year, centered on the screen. Don't want it too small. Please help. The video is due to her today!!!!! Thanks.

Are you rendering the *.avi files to DVD compatible MPEG2 prior to inserting them into the burn module? Try rendering it to an NTSC, DVD MPEG2 first. Also it may have something to do with the font(s) being used, and any effect, such as shadows, borders and outlines. There are some "template" text models provided that in my opinion are terrible. Try changing the font for your text to see if it clears it up.
