Rip-proof DVD's with VideoStudio 10 plus?

Post by Carrot »

Hi,

I have had VideoStudio 10plus für a few weeks now and am happy so far. Just one question as yet: I would like to produce copy-proof dvd's. I do videos of sports venues and would like to offer customers have a "satisfaction or money back"-guarantee, but for that I have to ensure that they can't simply copy the dvd and then send it back to reclaim their money. Can I do this with VideoStudio?

Thanks & merry Christmas

Sorry, but VS -- and no other hobbist-level video program of which I am aware will do that. We have discussed this a number of times before, and it appears that it requires an advanced program which itself requires some hefty licence fees -- though I could be wrong on the latter...

And you may or may not be aware that if someone really wants to copy your discs, regardless of the copy-protection you may apply, they are likely to find a way of doing so -- though for the most part this would be illegal in most parts of the world.

Ken is correct, and just to add to it, a link to a post by DVDDoug. He provided information as to the cost of protecting your discs. You could buy a car for less..:)

O.K., thanks to you both for the reply :)

I realized that someone with enough know-how would be able to rip copy-proofed DVD's anyway, but I at least wanted to make things difficult for them  Oh well, I'll have to think of something else then!

Thanks again and happy holidays

Even DVD's from the Hollywood Studios get copied despite expensive protection systems. Part of the world we now live in unfortunately.
