unable to load library TBYB

Post by zimmer4me »

I bought and downloaded VS10plus upgrade a few days ago and was using it ok and was working on a new project early stages.
I happened to notice on the website that there was a service pack 1 so I got that and installed it and the program would not launch after that.
the error being "unable to load library TBYB".
I read some other threads that mentiond "dep" (data execution) in windows and I changed the settings there and added VS10 as exception and as it required a re-boot was surprised the pc failed to boot again, I then tried in safemode to no avail. I ended up doing a system restore to before the VS service pack to get my pc up and running where upon VS10 worked again.
So Did I "patch (dated 18/9/06)"VS10plus on the PC unecessarily i.e. was my new purchase download(19/12/06) already patched
OR...Did I screw up as the service pack does not say "plus" in fact the file I used was "UVS10_SP1_5in1_tbyb.exe"
OR.. should it have the the "UVS10_SP1_E.exe"
OR... none of them ! ?
Would appeciate your thoughts as I have probably been a bit dim
cheers
JK

just an after thought...
should it have been both patch files
UVS10_SP1_5in1_tbyb.exe
UVS10_SP1_E.exe

BUT in a certain order ?

I only did "UVS10_SP1_5in1_tbyb.exe" when my problem arose...

Since you have the purchased version of VS10+, you should only have installed the UVS10_SP1_E.exe. The other TBYB=Try Before You Buy, is for the trial version.

Try doing a complete un-install/re-install. Ulead programs leave a lot of files behind. So just doing a simple add/remove programs from the control panel and then re-installing may not correct some issues. Instructions can be found here : Re-installation of Ulead Products
