MF5 Intallation Problems!

Post by tvranjes »

I just bought MF5+ and during the install it got an error. Now I can't uninstall because of the same error. It tells me to close any running programs, Empty my Temp folder, check my internet connection and run set up again. I've done this and during install i get a message saying that a version of MF5 is already on my system and I must remove it, when I try to remove it, it tells me to close any running programs . . . . etc.

I wonder what I have done differently to your way of installing because My MF5+ works. Can you tell me?

I was able to delete the Ulead files on my computer and tried reinstalling MF5+. Again I got an error at the point that Win DVD Player is being installed. The Install Shield encountered a problem and needs to close. I was able to get around it and keep on loading, but now I wonder if I'm going to encounter problems later on when I try to use MF5+?

Win DVD Player is like an "extra" so MF5+ should work OK.
Did you have a download version of MF5+ - if so I would try downloading again before the link expires. If on disc you may have a faulty one that needs exchanging.

Either way, if you can get a fresh copy run the intaller again and this time you will find a repair option.

If your version is a download version then it's possible the installer is corrupted and you can download the installer again as Steve said.

Also it's possible your Windows is not updated to the latest. Microsoft has a update pack on Windows Update called Windows Installer 3.0 to make InstallShield working.
