16:9 and 4:3 on the same DVD, is possible ?

Post by desa »

Hello everyone :)

I am new to video editing and I don't know if there a way to put both 16:9 and 4:3 videos on the same DVD.

If it is possible, it can be done with Video Studio ?

Thank You :)

bye!

Yes, this is valid, and Authoring Applications that support multiple Video Title Sets (VTS) can do it (like ULead's DVD Workshop 2.x, and DVD MovieFactory 3.x).

I'm not sure if the Authoring application that comes builtin to VideoStudio (it looks alot like MovieFactory) can do it -- if you have the software, give it a try...

Hi,

I haven't tried it but it you start off a new project and go directly to
"SHARE -> Create Disk".
Import the 2 videos seperately so they will appear as 2 seperate icons
on the menu.
Make sure "Do Not Convert Compliant Mpeg2 files" is CHECKED.

If the 2 videos are dvd compliant they shouldn't be re-rendered.
If they are re-rendered then they will be re-rendered to the project settings
which is what you DON'T want.

If this works, you should end up with 2 different groups of VOB's.
1 group for the 4:3 aspect ratio.
1 group for the 16:9 aspect ratio.

You must make sure the video files are completely dvd compliant and
aren't re-rendered and only multi-plexed by the dvd creation stage.

Hope this helps,

MD
