Visual C++ Runtime Errors in Windows XP

Post by mariwithaneye »

I replied to a previous post with this info, but wanted to make it easy to search for - so I'm re-posting it as a new topic.

I hope this helps someone else. It fixed my issues.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I ran into this problem yesterday. I, too, had been using PI 10 for quite some time and then out of the blue I got this error.

I scoured the net and this forum for an answer, but despite everyone's attempt at fixing my issue - I still could not open my software.

Soo..... I took matters into my own hands and decided to play around with the program setting myself. I had already removed and installed 3 times using various methods listed in the forum.

Today however, I fixed the issue!!!!!

Here's what I did. Keep in mind I have windows XP

Right click on start - then OPEN
Open Program Files folder
Open Ulead Systems folder
Open Photo Impact folder
Right Click the Iedit icon
Select properties from menu
Select Compatibility tab
Check - Run this program in compatibility mode for
Select Windows 98/windows ME
Click Apply

It fixed MY issue - hope it helps some of you guys.

Good Luck!

I don't know why it fixed your issue but it surely wasn't due to PI 10. Something went south with your windows installation. PI 10 runs very well under Win XP.

I have had Windows XP and PI 10 running for over a year. I'm not sure what caused the error in PI all of a sudden, but I wanted to share what stopped the error and allowed me to continue using PI in case anyone else had the same issues.

Why isn't so important to me. That I can carry on with the program is essential.

Best of luck to all - and happy holidays

This resolution worked for me. Only bummer is it reset all my stuff. My gallery's and presets are all gone. I had the exact same error message. But I got mine because I was doing an image in PI and my computer froze. I couldn't even bring up task manager so I had to manually shut down my comp and when I brought it back up I got that error message. I tried restoring my comp to an earlier time but it didn't work!

I agree with Heinz that there is something wrong with your windows system BUT your cure worked not only for you but also at least one other forum member. Thank you for sharing it with us.
