Simple way of making endlessly looping slideshow

I really can't see why you bother playing with IFOs when the solution that I've spelt out is so simple:

1) In 'Project Settings', turn on 'Auto repeat when disc playback ends'.
2) Import your images.
3) Turn on 'Create menu'.
4) Click 'Next'.
5) Make your dummy menu - any background image you like - and hide all objects.
6) Click 'Next' and burn your DVD.

Now all you need to do is to put your DVD in your player and hit the play button on your DVD player or remote.

Voila! - an endlessly looping slideshow, with just the images you've selected and no further appearance of your dummy menu.

Simple, n'est-ce pas? Have you tried this, palutte?

If so, in what way doesn't it meet your requirements? I'd really like to know.

Thanks for a idea. It works excellent in most cases except one may forget to press play button and especially when the player and display are in different rooms, full auto play might be preferred.

Glad to be of help, palutte. Yes, I guess one could forget to press the play button, but I can't quite see your point about player and display being in different rooms - wouldn't you have to be right at the player to load the DVD in the first place?

If you really do need full auto play with endless looping, and are happy with delving into the IFO, then it might be worth looking at PgcEdit ("The Swiss Army knife of DVD editing") as a supplement to MF5.
