VS10+ Trial Version - Does it support HDV capture?

Mjones,
Toadman's problem should have been solved by remaning ADSCirrusUSB2.dll and then reinstalling VS10+.

You should search your computer for any instances of this .dll and do the same.

Other problems could be that you have version 10 - not 10+ or that you installed Ulead Movie Factory, which interferes - see http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=19298

Also, your computer needs to have XP with Service pack 2 installed.

Mjones78 - I am able to capture in HD now thanks to jchunter's advice. For some reason VS10+ was not seeing the HDV PlugIn after initial install. Look at your HerCap.ini file and verify that HDVCap.dll is listed. I suspect your problem is the same as mine was if you are not able to select the HDV capture plugin from Tools>Change Capture PlugIn. I simply edited my HerCap.ini and I was in business.
