Authoring DVD-9 in DVD Workshop

Post by stevew »

I just finished authoring a project in DVD-WS for dual-layer (DVD-9) replication. I submitted the DLT tapes to the replicator, but received word back that layer 1 was not closed on the tape. I have the latest DLT patches for DVD-WS2.

Settings I used were:
DDP Part: 1.0, DVD Book version: Read-only Disc, Track path: Opposite, Minimum readout rate: 5.04, Use DVD-9:(checked), Header format: DDP 2.00, Split point: default, Rewind after writing: (checked), Verify after writing: (checked). I'm using a Quantum DLT4000 drive.

Everything seemed to go fine with writing and verifying the tapes. No errors from DVD-WS.

To keep the project on schedule, I was able to submit a dual-layer DVD+R as source for the glass master. I would have preferred to use tape (more durable, and usually, more reliable). Any ideas what happened? I haven't see any messages about anyone actually doing DVD-9 replication with DVD-WS. Has anyone succesfully done this via DLT?

Thanks,
--Steve
