Finished project magnified on monitor

Post by willydeluxe »

I don't recall this ever happening before.
Starting from clips 720x576 in size, with a bitrate of 2079kbps, the finished "film" (ha ha, pretentious? - moi?) is bigger - I mean seriously cropped - compared to the original.
I cropped a few clips but the rest are as normal.
The first "Create" was done Custom/Options/Compression reducing the kbps to 6000 and leaving the rest as is: when I saw the result I re-did it as Pal Mpeg2 720x576 and it's still seriously cropped.

What has gone awry/am I doing wrong?
I know that when I watch stuff on my old analogue curved screen tv it's cropped, but unless someone wants to buy me a 37" Bravia for Christmas I'll have to put up with that, but I've never had this happen on my LCD monitor before.

(Just out of curiosity as I write this I'm trying again, in HD 1024 x whateveritis, just to see what happens.)

Oh boy!
I would SO like to remove my post but I'm going to leave it there in the hope that the embarrassment teaches me a lesson.

Yesterday I bought a swanky new laser mouse (to go with my swanky new Logitech G15 gaming keyboard (illuminated keys, 36 programmable keys, stopwatch, CPU and Ram monitor, etc) and.....anyway......
the mouse zoom wheel zooms everything and I had the screen image zoomed in!

You may laugh and jeer and poke fun now.
And a merry Christmas to you all.

Thanks for sharing that with us and, NO, I'm not laughing. It takes a bit of guts to come back here and admit you did something foolish That I appreciate. Others coming here, ranting on about some perceived fault of the software, getting all sorts of advice but haven't got the curtesy to acknowledge that it works now I don't have time for.

Good luck in future too.
