Closing spaces

Having cut 10 to 15 or so segments of video in the timeline and copied those segments, I paste them into a new project and the spaces between them remain in place.
I want to remove the spaces so that all of the segments are close up against each other. Is there an easier way to do this than dragging each segment, one at a time?

Of course there is, you will find it on p. 74 of your manual (MSP8) (Search|Find empty time slot).
