Failed to connect to driver

I have been struggling all day with this problem. I read that the Sony HDR-HC3 works with MovieFactory 5 so I bought thinking it would solve my problem but it did not. I have tried everything to resolve this problem but have had no luck. I have been capturing video with this sam PC for 5 years and now I cannot - I bought the Sony last week and I expected this to work with either Media Studio Pro 7.0 (I own this) or DVD MovieFactory. I will be asking for my money back if this does not get resolved quickly.
