Any free third party filters/effects/transitions for VS 10+?

Hi there,

I just purchased (from a store, NOT download version) Ulead VideoStudio 10+ and have installed it and is currently going through the manual and menus and exploring it.

I must say that so far, I am very happy with the functionality of VS 10+ and am glad that I picked this product. However, while I do think its a great software, I do feel a little disappointed about the number of "ready made" "stock" effects that come with the software. I had at first gotten the movie wizard bundled with my digital camera, and thought I'd shell out some cash to get more stock effects. Read a lot of online reviews and it says that while more advanced software like adobe premiere pro would allow for more customizations, that VideoStudio has more "stock" special effects like filters and transitions which I can use and is more applicable to the non professional but rather recreational user. Perhaps my expectations were unrealistic, but regardless, I am looking for more effects. Or am I missing something? I clicked on EDIT tab and under video filters, and there aren't that many. Are there more hidden elsewhere? I can see 49 of them including one I downloaded myself.


I have already downloaded Burger's transition filters, and like them very much. However, I am looking for more video filters I can use for effects on the actual video clips. I have searched online for video editing plugins and found all sorts of third party created cool things like "Robot vision" and "crosshairs" and stuff like that but they all seem only to apply to adobe software. The majority of them are free, but unfortunately seem only available to premier pro. I am wondering if there are any sites or download mirrors where I can download such filters?
I am also slightly disappointed that there are some filters and transitions available in previous versions of VS that are no available. For example there is a curtain transition that Mr. Steve J. was kind enough to load a version for VS 10+. However, somehow the link he provided isn't downloading anything for me.

I have already checked the thread at http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=12931 and have found lots of useful tools, but I do not see any special effects filters like the ones I am looking for.

Can anyone please guide me in the right direction? Thanks!

I recently altered these download links having made a few tweaks.

Please let me know if you still have a problem. I spent several hours working on these and really want others to benefit.
