Audio editing

Post by rayban »

Hello,

Have some of our music performances on VHS tape, not audio tape, and would like to copy those and somewhat clean them up for a slideshow within VS9. Is there some basic or even shareware audio editing software that will allow me to play the tape, capture, clean it up (if possible), then take certain parts to fill into the slide show? A key feature is to have a fade in and fade out so it is not choppy when it transitions to another part of the slideshow.

Thanks for your help!

rayban,

As far as equipment for recording the tape, I've use a "Walkman" tape player with an audio cable out the headphone jack and into my sound card.
