Big Video Card Problem in Video Studio 9 SE
While I'm capturing from my Winfast TV2000 XP EXPERT, my Monitor turns off for a sec then returns with only half the screen showing but the Desktop is the right size. half cut off desktop. or it will turn my monitor off completley and monitor gives message out of range. tried 10 different nViDIA drivers same thing tried different drivers for Capture card same thing. PLEASE HELP?
It's probably the Winfast capture driver that's crashing, not the nVidia display driver...
Are you using Video Studio for capture? If your capture hardware came with special Winfast capture software, you should be using that software. Ulead "captures" well from DV cameras, but when it comes to analog capture hardware it's hit-or-miss.
Even if your hardware came with a "free" SE version of Video Studio, that doesn't mean that it will interface properly with your hardware.
As far as I can tell, Ulead does not confirm compatibility, and some of the hardware manufacturers don't either!
Once you have a digital video file on your hard drive, you can use Video Studio to edit* and make a DVD. (If you are planning to make a DVD, choose a DVD compatable MPEG-2 format for capture.)
* Just a little warning - Your capture device is MPEG only, and some of us have had trouble when editing MPEGs. (DV is best for editing.)

I used to have a related card (Winfast DV2000, now replaced by Winfast digital DTV2000H) and can confirm DVDDoug's advice. The Winfast software which came with both these cards does a marvellous job at capturing (including, with the DTV2000H, capturing HDTV). And if you go into its Configuration, you will in fact more flexible controls for the quality of capture (brightness, contrast etc) than you would get with Video Studio in any of its versions.
That being said, I used VS9 and 10 with the card and could capture DVD-quality mpeg-2 with no problems. And certainly I cannot see it being VS which is causing the problem with your monitor.

Maybe you should try to disable the screen saver function of your Windows when you are capturing the video.
Control Panel->Display->Screen Saver.
Update your WinFast driver and the WinFast Wizard software to the latest also.

Hope this helps.

Thanks To ALL
Thank You for getting back to me so quickly guys, I tried all of your suggestions but no fix. so I uninstalled the nVIDIA Drivers and left them off then captured no problem. SO I asked a Friend if I could borrow his 7900GTX to see if in fact it was my Video Card. It Was So I have sent my Card back to Supplier. Strange thing is though that only when I capture with ULEAD does it give this Problem. WINPVR no problem, Nero Vision 7 No Problem. Only with ULEAD. but I'm sure it's just my CARD and maybe the way ULEAD uses the Video Overlay of NVIDIA cards? Anyway thanks guys for your posts.
