Is it possible to add EVERY video clip in a library to a project without the need to add each one separately?
I am just about to capture a lengthy video (from camera) with DETECT SCENE turned on and expect many small video clips most of which I will want in my project. I thought it would be a lot easier and less time consuming to add them all (in one movement if possible) and then resize each where necessary and remove any unwanted clips and re-arrange where necessary.
If so, is the method available in VS9 and VS10+?
Thanks
Can all clips in a library be added to the timeline together

When I capture with VS, all the captured files appear automatically and sequentially in both the library pane AND the timeline once capture has finished. So in that sense, the question does not arise ... or at least, is automatically answered!
On the other hand, if you have a number of files in the library pane which you want to move holus bolus to the timeline, this is possible by simply selecting the first clip and then Shift+Clicking the last in the sequence, and dragging and dropping them in the timeline. There used to be a problem that VS would very annoyingly put the very first clip in the sequence, last in the timeline, though the rest would be in sequence. Someone had a solution for it, though I am afraid I cannot recall what it was. And I have to admit I don't know whether the problem has been corrected in VS10+.

Hi
As Ken said use Shift + Click to highlight your clips then drag and drop.
For VS 10
Moving clips from the library to the timeline: will be in order.
Moving clips from the timeline to the library: will be OUT of ORDER.
To move clips from the timeline to the library use Copy and Paste. (VS10)
Moving clips from the hard drive to the library use drag and drop. (dragging the first file)
For VS 9 there should be no problems.
Capturing.
Why not capture to one file (no split scene)
Then split scene from the timeline.

As Trevor says - why 'split by scene' if you are going to use nearly all of the video anyrate - just capture as one video file and work from that - see here :-

I just cannot see the need to clutter up your hard drive with dozens of small video clips when it can be one tidy file.

And as a footnote to my red-faced smileys, the details came back to me and are posted here http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 4488#94488
