Slideshow - how do I import many photos at once?
Hello, I am using UVS9 & the Movie Wizard. I have a large directory of photo's & I want to grab them all at once & import them into Movie Wizard to create a slideshow. Is there a way to do this? When I click on a photo it seems to just let me import it one at a time but I have hundreds so I don't want to be doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
click on a picture, hold the shift key, and click on a picture further down the director (everything between the two will highlight, and you can click the OPEN button to bring them all in.
Also, instead of holding the SHIFT key, hold the CTL key, and then select individual pictures one by one (they will all stay highlighted). When you are done selecting, you can open them all up...
Regards,
George

It should allow you to import numerous images. You just need to use the common windows method of multi-selecting. In the browse window, where you navigate to your images, left-click once to hightlight/select your first image. Then hold down the shift-key, and then left-click on the last image you want to import. Then click OK.
Works in my VS9, just tried it, on about 80ish images..

To use Random Transistions, go to File>Preferences. In the pull down menu for Use Default Transistion, select Random.
Now to use Random, it will also place the album transition in someplaces. These are notoriously slow. You then can go through your clip, and change the transitions you don't want.

Also, if you want to select all the images in a directory really quickly, just highlight a single image and then hit CTRL-A. This will select every file in that directory. Just be careful there aren't any non-image files like desktop.ini or something in there as they will be selected also.vidoman wrote:It should allow you to import numerous images. CycleWriter -- There used to be a glitch in the method you described. It worked as advertised and selected all images (or indeed videos), but in fact you had to be careful which initial image/video you selected. This was because while all of them were selected, when you actually pasted or dragged and dropped them in the timeline, they were inserted in sequence starting from the image/video selected. So it could be a case of the first being unto the last. In other words, if you wanted everything in the Library AND in exactly the same sequence as it was in the Library, then you actually had to select the very first image/video and then press Ctrl+A. This was ccertainly the case up until VS9, but I confess I don't know if they have finally corrected that in VS10.)
[As an aside, thanks also for raising this. It came up yesterday in another thread, and I mentioned it in an answer I gave. But at the time, I couldn't remember the details of the glitch or the work-around.]
And Trevor: I never knew that about double clicking a transition in its library!
I have always -- but always -- dragged and dropped.
Gotta love this Board!!
