Help.. Am I doing it wrong..?

Post by Harwee »

Cheers I am new Here. I am trying MF5 Plus Trial, have used shideshow and is a winner, but have a problem with importing my DVD-RAM disks. It imports and can see on film line but nothing in preview screen, when I try to edit it comes up with windows program shutdown error, I don't send , and then closes down MF5. Is it cause am using trial and won't let me, or am i doing someting else wrong, I am one click on downloading copy to buy , but if i can't import my video from my dvd-cam, then will have to try other software. And can't get tech help from Ulead until I buy software. so maybe someone can help out here.

Thanks for any help

I'm just on the other side of that black stump 8) but I have trouble understanding what it is that you do.

Fistly, MF 5 is not an editor, it's a program to author DVD disks from your source material.

Have a read of this http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=8960 and provide us with some detail on what the problem is, supported by your source file properties etc.

I'm sure we shall be able to get you going. BTW, your problems are not due to the trial version, they are due to the trial operator and can be fixed. :D

Hope this give you more info.?

That's Me.
OK here goes:-

Use VideoDisc new project or Import-capture from devices.
Select a DVD Title comes up with D:My drive info go down and click Import. Reads DVD-RAM disk i select the program i want and it does it's thing , then main panel comes up , can see scenes at bottom of panel, I try and use Edit Media- either Mutli-trim Video or Enhance Video/Edit and then it comes up with the program must close screen, ask me to send details or don't send, i don't and closes main panel and comes back to main launcher and have to start again. If I import and just go next and next can burn DVD , but i want to edit , why can't I . I'm using DVD-RAM Video 60min 2.8Gb Disks. Have a Hitachi DVD-Cam NTSC. my DVD Burner is a LG -GSA 4040B.

Any ideas....

Highlight the 1st clip, using the markers on the "preview screen trim a few frames from the beginning &"

I DID WHAT YOU ADVISED WITH F6 NO CHANGE, TRIED TO FAST EXPORT STILL GET NOTHING IN PREVIEW SCREEN AND STILL CLOSES PROGRAM DOWN. IF I USE OTHER FORMATS ALL GOOD JUST CAN'T IMPORT MY DVD-RAM DISKS, WHICH IS WHAT I WHAT IT FOR. ANY OTHER IDEAS.

After you "Fast Exported" the video to the harddisk.
Did you start a new project and import/use that new video that was created? (The new video created on the harddisk).
Not the original video. YES I DID NEW ONE

Also, with the minidvd in your dvd-ram reader on the computer can you use
any software dvd player to play that mini-dvd-ramdisk and view all the videos on it.
Software players like "PowerDvd", WinDvd, Sonic, Ulead dvd player etc,not windows media player.
Could be a problem with the dvd-ram reader in the computer. You can also try to copy the complete mini-dvd-ram disk to the computers harddisk.
I HAVE POWERDVD AND IT PLAYS FINE ON THAT

Remove PowerDVD and see if it works.

The best way is to physically take the dvd out of the cam and read it from the computers dvd drive. HAVE DISK OUT AND IN DVD DRIVE

They are located in a folder named "Capture" directly located under your working folder. SURE ARE
Check the length of the video that powerdvd says it is to the actual time reported when you seek to the end of the video. ALL LOOK FINE AND HAVE RIGHT INFO
MovieFactory will also crash if your "Working Folder" is assigned to a non-existent drive or directory. If your working folder is assigned to a network folder this will also happen. If your connected to a windows server that maps your home directory & profile to the network this will also happen. HAVE FILE ON HARD DRIVE NO NETWORK.

Even though a mpeg file can play it can also be corrupt.
Any ramdisks I've ever had problems with was when the videos were ever recorded in LP/EP/SLP mode, and also any recording mode if you have a feature called "Fast Copy" in the setup menu of the recorder. MINE ARE JUST STARDARD SETUP NO LP/EP/SLP

Hope this helps,

ONLY GLAD I HAVE NOT PAYED MONEY FOR THIS PROGRAM AS IT HAS NOT DONE AS ADVERTISED AS A SIMPLE TO USE PROGRAM...
