Whenever I seperate the audio and video tracks, or add audio to the music track, I get strange audio results on various desk top DVD players. In most cases the video is fine but the audio is at an extremely low level or non-existant.
On my personal desktop DVD/VHS recorder both audio and video play the created DVD correctly. I then attempt to recocrd the DVD to VHS tape and the tape has the same audio problem when played in other decks.
I have rendered the DVD in all types of audio and video format settings with no change in results. Any suggestions?
Audio Output after rendering to DVD

Such as? If you use one of the Video Studio templates, you should be OK.I have rendered the DVD in all types of audio and video format settings...
If you live in the USA (or other NTSC country), there are only 2 standard audio formats - Dolby (AC3) and LPCM (with certain specific requirements). All NTSC DVD players are requred to play these two. (Other formats are optional.) If you live in a PAL country, you can also use MPEG-2 audio.
The video formats are rather restricted too. There is a chart on this page showing the allowed audio / video formats. (In practice, you should keep the bitrate below about 8000kbps, because many players have trouble with high-bitrate "burned" DVDs.)
Players are not requred to play burned DVDs, but if you are getting video, I don't see why you're not getting audio.
I can't explain that... The combo unit can play the DVD OK, but it can't record the DVD audio to tape while playing??? Weird!I then attempt to recocrd the DVD to VHS tape and the tape has the same audio problem when played in other decks.

I am in the USA and have limited my formats to those you have suggested. I have tried bit rates down to 4000kbps and DVD record speeds down to 2X without success. I've also tried differing disc manufactures and types (Memorex, Maxwell, Sony, +R and -R). As long as I don't seperate the captured Video/Audio to seperate tracks I have no problem. I always get audio from the main video track but do not get the audio of the seperated or added sound track(music track). I have even re-installed VS10 without any change. You agree with my conclusion; it is wierd! I'm about ready to try something other than VS10. Any suggestions?
