Adding transitions.............

Post by a2barmby »

Hi all.
This is my first post so please be gentle .........
Is there a way in V.S 8 to add 1 transition to many video clips in one command :?:
I know there is a default transition you can specify, but you still have to click on one transition at a time and add it to the time line/clips.
I have used Pinnacle v9 in the past (gave it up cos' I couldn't for the life of me, burn a readable disk for use in my home standalone theatre system  However is does have some nice features) and it uses a command called "ripple" where you can highlight all clips needing a transition and then drop the transition onto the timeline and voila......... multiple clips with a transition each. :D
I'd just like to say that I find V.S 8 very user friendly and for me, I now have MANY super quality readable DVD disks of my family etc.
Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Hi - pleased you made it at last, - when you specify the use of a default transition in 'File >> Preferences' it will automatically insert the selected or random (of a sort) transistion between each scene during capture (from DV) but I do not think you can add multiple transitions once your video is in the timeline - unless any one else knows different ???

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the reply. Yup, I have used the auto insert feature you have mentioned in the File>>pref section.
It would just be nice to be able to add groups of transitions to different areas of clips.
Pinnacle Studio has this feature, but the programm just doesn't work out for me.
It's Ulead all the way.
I've made over 10 full DVD's of home video's without a hitch now and I'm sooooo pleased. :D
