Upgraded to VideoStudio 10 Plus ? uninstall version 8 SE?

Post by Jim Hunt »

Today I downloaded the update from VideoStudio 3 SE to 10 Plus and installed it. My question is can I safely remove the old version and all its "installed" components.

Simple answer..... Yes.

My question, where did you find VS3SE? That must be a version that ran on Windows 3.0, and only needed a 286 or maybe a 486 to run, with 64 megs of ram...:)

Ok seriously now, You can safely uninstall VS3SE. However it may take some critical components with it. That is no big deal. Run VS10+ after uninstalling VS3SE, and if doesn't run properly, first try doing a Repair (Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Repair). That should fix any problems caused by VS3 taking things with it when you uninstall it....

This has got to be a major shock, going from such a primitive version to VS10+..

Judging by the title, I think that was a typo for VS 8 SE...

Sorry Vidoman - my error. You are correct Ken, I should have said version 8 SE. I was confusing the number with DVD MovieFactory that I also upgraded from Version 3 SE.

I will go ahead and follow your recommendations.
