I have two interesting problems with VideoStudio 10 Plus audio capture from CD. To wit:
Using the capture audio feature from a cd, when the capture program reaches the 3 minute mark, it cuts the last seconds from the capture. Oddly, I can play the entire piece using the capture program, but everything after the 3 minute mark is dead - no audio. It does time to the correct end mark, just no sound.
Any hints about this?
Secondly, is there a way to capture audio from a file alredy on the computer? For example, I have .wav and .wma files on the computer that I would like to use on some videos I've made, but I can't seem to get the program to recognise anything on the computer as valid - it has to be ripped from a cd.
Any hints about that?
Thanks in advance.

Can't help with your first problem. This feature works fine with my VS10+. But in point of fact, I never use it. Instead, I always capture audio using a third party program like Windows Media Player. And then I almost invariably convert it to .wav format with a third party audio editing program (in this case Nero's Wave Editor) since I like to trim the one or two seconds of silence at the beginning and end of a CD track. I usually also want to vary the length of the track to fit a particular segment of my video and/or fade the music in or out. This is more easily done in a dedicated audio program.
As for your second question, if you mean you are using the VS audio capture feature to capture music already on your computer, then you are going about it the wrong way. If the music is already there, then you simply right click your mouse in the audio track of the timeline and choose 'Insert Audio' and then point the program to where your already captured music is stored. Highlight the track or tracks. Then click on Open and the track(s) should be inserted in the track you chose.

Lately, I have also noticed random problems with VideoStudio producing corrupted files ripped from a cd. My "fix" has been to use another app to do my ripping.

Ken,
Thanks a lot. I guess I was just doing something wrong with the computer music. I'm still new to the program and the user book isn't helpful in that manner.
Most appreciated.
All the best.
