"Convert step has some issues"

Post by bigd2525 »

I am running 2.0 Pentium 4 with 512MB, I captued the video (Sony TRV 140 Digital 8) as an avi file via firewire connection, edited, created a Video File first, (MPEG2), then I saved it to my hard drive (took about 4 hours). I then (with nothing in the time line) opened the video file, created the menus, then when I went to burn, it goes to about 30% "converting menus", and I still get the error message, "Convert step has some issues". Any assistance please?

I tried without the menu and it worked, successful burn (great playback quality in DVD player) so apparently it has something to do with the menu. ........When I tried with the menu included, the Auto Fade Out First Play to Menu was unchecked, but that did not solve the problem. I really would like to have a menu in my DVD video. I read the manual, but that did not answer my issue. Any other suggestions?

simplify the menu.

In the -Currently displayed menu- window, look in "Edit" tab and stop motion menu and remove background image/video and music and see what happens. need to this for all the sub menus

should have a much more simplified menu now.

I'm having the same issue (see the other post) and tried ocular's suggestions - this did not affect the issue at all. Anyone else?

Have you moved any of the buttons or thumbnails?
I noticed this same fault with a home made menu and it was only after inspecting it with PhotoImpact that I realised that I had some overlapping buttons - even though visually they appeared well spaced out.
As soon as moved them further apart the problem was resolved.

I was not suggesting that the Auto Fade Out was your problem, only that it was my experience. I even stated "Your problem may be different (motion menu, music, etc.)". You now know it is something in the menu creation process. As you can see from other posts it can be many different things that cause this. It will take trial and error to figure it out.
