Why The File Size?

Post by Glowball »

I've been using PictureShow since version 1 and I used version 4 about a year ago without issues. Now I'm trying to create a show that has about 3.25GB of JPG files. The software is saying that it will need a 42.1GB DVD for that, and I don't seem to have one of those laying around.
Last year I burned a DVD of 6.5GB of files on a slideshow that worked flawlessly. I never include the files themselves on the DVD. What can I do? Why is it needing so much more room? It needs a ton of room for the hard disc options, too.

Help? Thanks!

I did an experiment. I uninstalled PictureShow, rebooted, then reinstalled it. Then I applied the patch at http://www.ulead.com/tech/dps/dps_ftp.htm. I opened it up and started a new project and added two slideshows. One had 354 JPG files in it, the other had 63. I took the default template and didn't change any options.

The files are 196MB on my computer. Under the "Burn" tab I only have "Create DVD folders" checked. PictureShow says I need 3.71GB. Why so much?

If I then check "Record to Disc" it says I'll need 1.99GB for this DVD. For 196MB??? Why?

It seems like there is something wrong here.

I was using a different template last year and when I found that one the DVD size went down to 3.56GB. That's better! I have no idea what was making it so much bigger, but my problem's solved.

I would delete this whole thread but I have no idea how to do that. Sorry for the time waster!

Glad to see you got it working. We will keep the thread though in case anyone else has the same problem and can benefit from your cure.
