!!!VS7!!!
I initially couldn't figure out why my camera said 16bit 48k recording, but VS7 said 12bit 32k after captuing? After multiple tests and contacting Sony then reloading VS7 several times and getting different problems, I'm Pi$$ed. I've been using computers for about 10 years... Am I not getting it?! Do the software companies design their older versions to not work with the new windows, acrobat and what ever else update you get since the purchase of your computer?!

Do you mean camcorder as per
Sony DCR-HC90
A camera is something that takes snapshots, a camcorder takes movies.

What are you capturing to, mpeg or DV-AVI?
If it is DV-AVI, then you are talking nonsense because there is no coding/decoding involved with "capturing" DV-AVI. It's a simple transfer of data from the tape to the PC, no conversion whatsoever. If you are getting 12 bit 32 KHz, then that is what you recorded. There are no settings in the capture module for DV-AVI othere than type1 or type2.
If you have captured to mpeg2 and you got a difference from recorded to captured format, your settings were wrong.
If your camcorder is set to record 16 bit 48 kHz and you are getting 12 bit 32 kHz, there is something wrong with your camera.
