Used VS9 to capture VHS tape to .WMV format clips. When I attempt to play same clips in edit mode of VS9, program quits with Program Error message:
"vstudio.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program."
"An error log is being created."
This happens consistently. Can anyone help?

Why have you captured to WMV format ?
Do you intend to create DVD discs from your VHS tapes? (To play in your standalone DVD player).
If so you need to capture to MPEG2.

so that we can then view your system specifications.

VS9: can't play clips in edit mode
Good question. Actually, I tried to capture to MPEG2 but was unable to do so, so I decided to switch to WMV. I plan to utilize only short segments of the file, so I will save those segments as MPEG2 as I edit them out.
I should say that the WMV files play just fine in Windows Media Player, so I don't suppose the problem of playing them in VS9 edit mode is that they are bad files.
