I'm new to Photo Impact. I've worked in PaintShopPro for years, but since Corel bought out Jasc, the product, especially PSPXI, does nothing but run script errors and shut down.
Anyway, looking for a program that I can use for my digital photos as well as web design, (I'm in the process of putting up a photo gallery with free stock photography) in conjuction with a photo album for storage of my 10,000 + photos to keep organized.
I downloaded the trial versions of Photo Impact 12 and Photo Explorer 8.8, only because I'm tired of paying for programs I'm disappointed in afterwords. A total waste of good money.
My problem is...I installed Impact first, and it ran great, did what I was looking for, so the next day, checked out Photo Explorer and installed that into another folder, separate from Impact. (the install notes said not to put the trial in with other ulead products).
Explorer ran great, again, looks like what I'm wanting, but when I tried to launch Impact, it would not launch. the splash came up, ran thru it's loads then just dissappeared. What did I do wrong? I would like to get these running in sinc before purchasing.
Can someone tell me how to do this with the trial versions?
Thanks sooo Much!

Why did you separate the installations?
Not sure if that has anything to with it but PI and PEX, as well as Album, GifAnimator etc. (all programs that come with PI) can savely be installed at the default locations and do work very well, at least for me.
BTW, not that it really matters, Corel bought Ulead as well.

I think the PhotoExplorer version you use should be v8.6, not v8.8, because there is still no v8.8 available.
The trial version of PhotoExplorer 8.6 might effect PhotoImpact 12 since PI 12 is newer than PhotoExplorer 8.6. I would suggest you reverse the install order if you want to try both. (PhotoExplorer first then PI 12)
If you buy PhotoImpact 12, PhotoExplorer 8.6 will be a extra component in the PI 12 package and will not have this problem because it will have some updated files from PhotoImpact 12 to eliminate the conflicts.
Hope this helps.
