You can go to a website like this http://www.gmanvideo.com/snow.htm
and purchase a selection of snow backgrounds. An earlier version of video studio contained a snow loop on the content disk, but I can't remember which version of VS it was.

Or you could set up your video camera shooting against a black or chromakey backgroud and drop soapflakes through a siv so that they float through your frame.

harrkim,

There's a VERY good program called particle Illusion 3.0 by wondertouch. You can get the SE version from http://www.wondertouch.com for $99 US. However, an academic pricing of $49 US is available from http://www.venturaes.com/index_new.asp? ... index.html. This program is useful for many kinds of special effects; I was lucky enough to get version 2.0SE in a British computer magazine for next to nothing. BTW, I have used a snow effect over a still picture, for a title video with this program and it almost looked like a real video.

Hope this helps,
Ron

Hi tommy can't help with the snow.
Also, has anyone had problems signing into Ulead as a member? I can't get to my registration page.
I had a real problem when Ulead changed my password and then kept sending me Emails to say that AOL wasn't allowing their emails through so they couldn't provide a new password. I emailed back to say emails were getting through ok so could I have a password please only to receive another email saying (wait for it) AOL wasn't allowing etc etc!! Weird but true!

So one evening just doodling at the 'Log in Page' I typed in my email Ady and then (removed) into the password box in lower case letters, amazingly a dialogue box opened inviting me to put in my own New Password and 'Hey Presto' I was in. This must be their default give it a try.

Removed by Moderator. Roy I don't know if it works or not but just in case it does I have had to remove any possible backdoor methods of entry otherwise it will be abused by the spammers we have been having problems with. - Steve J (sjj1805)

TommyTucker..the "snow" fall effect in Ulead Cool 3D Studio can be found by clicking on the right column, after Cool 3D is opened..."particle effects" then on "Snow". You will then have several different patterns of snow falls to choose

Ken, the board is currently being run in a reduced service mode.
Ulead are working on the replacment board offline and also testing out PHPBB3 (which currently is in Beta Version).

SnowFall

Thanks Josh, I guess I did not understand that this effect was only for Cool Studio, I am only using Cool 3D 3.5, not Production Studio. But thanks for the advice.
