I agree. But I doubt we will see that happen.

Like you, I have recommended VS to many, many people. Some have bought it. My enthusiasm about the product has steered many people away from the competition and even away from higher priced products.

That (plus several upgrades) should count for something.

BUT - Has anyone seen a better upgrade/pricing (read: "squeeze the consumer at every turn") strategy than Symantec Corp?

Wish List

Post by Vicki »

Would like to add another wish list item. After working on more and more projects, the library is getting too big and cumbersome, although I have separated them into the collections. What I really want is to only view those stills and videos that I captured or opened up for the new project currently working on. Too cumbersome to keep selecting the collections from the drop down list.

And yes, it would be nice to have some fixes and new features in free intermediate upgrades, in addition to the patches for camcorders I don't have or operating systems I don't want.

my wish list for VS11

Post by Sherryluv4 »

Transition FX: More transiton fx and The ability to apply them to overlay tracks. I've often take two clips and render them together with a transition then go back and add them to my main track. It would be nice to eliminate this workaround. Also as above, if I'm working with a particular collection in the video library, e.g. "Video Jane Doe's Wedding" and I need to switch to Audio, when I'm done with it, I can hit the Video tab and it would default back to my the Video library I worked on last rather than having to select "Video Jane Doe's Wedding"all over again. As the owner of many video editing programs, i have found that VS is the easiest to work with and as an owner who started way back with earlier versions i've watched the program grow and greatly improve. Still, theres always some features that can be made better.

There is a method of inserting transitions to clips on the overlay tracks.

Another method is given here

Wishlist for Video Studio 11 or 12 or whenever

OK, so I've reached the stage of multitrimming where I have my clips selected and they're all waiting in a row at the bottom of my screen.
And I want to save them individually as mpegs. Which I do by clicking on the Clip tab at the top of the screen and then "save trimmed video" for each one by one by one.
Methinks that in a previous version there was a handy button that just took one click and very little mouse travel. I'd like that back please!

And if the programmer is feeling especially generous, how about letting me batch process the whole set of clips with one click. That would be neat! Could I do that with Video Studio Pro??

Spring is around the corner, and the Ulead site as VideoStudio 10 on sale. Make your own conclusions.

Just had an email from Ulead with a 10% off coupon on Vista compatible products (after downloading the patch). In the email it says qualifying products are VS11 and plus, and MF6 and plus
Anyone know when these will arrive

How about the audio track being shown as a waveform and it being audible when you are scrolling. When you are doing a "quick" edit trimming the audio can be a hit and miss affair.

I would like the option of splitting the UI over 2 screens to get rid of some of the clutter; this would also give more room to show all the overlay tracks. This option is available in a lot of graphics editing programs.

Heres mine:
Chapter points in edit is great, but I would like VS to support the recommended procedure of creating a video file and then creating a disc whilst carrying through the chapter points and names.
I always put photos in my videos and have discovered that it "looks" better when using pan and zoom rather than just the still photo. It also "looks" better using crossfade transitions between the photos.
I would like a default pan and zoom option which creates four diamond points. One at either end and the other two in from each end defaulted to the transition length. I want to do my pan and zoom outside of the transition times. I can do that now but its painstaking.
Speaking of transitions. I have noticed that if I implement a transition from a video it removes the sound from the last second (default time) of the video. I would like it to keep the previous clips video going when transitioning from a video to a still image or colour. Maybe they could implement a fade out fade in automatically when transitioning between videos.

it would be good to be able to adjust the transition length in the timeline

That is possible to do. Or do you mean a "global" change, as has been discussed here.

adjust transition length

Post by Ken Veal »

What I meant was inspite of what ever has been set in pref. to have the ability to stretch or shrink a transition via the yellow trim handles in the timeline whilst you are in the middle of a project.

You can adjust the duration of a transition by using the yellow trim handles in the timeline.
