New to Photo Impact

How do I go about adding an oval boarder around a picture and then have it fade out (you know, like an old portrait)? Bruce

Hi invgrp, and welcome to the forums.

I would suggest to head over to this page http://www.pircnet.com/ and look for a suitable tutorial there. They also offer a free Beginneres Workshop for PhotoImpact.

It would overload this board if we were to give instructions to everyone on how to do certain tasks.

You could also read the manual, especially the parts on masking and object extraction.

Is there a Tutorial for PhotoImpact 12 (the above site only has Ver11)?

PI 12 is relatively new and tutorials are only becoming available slowly. You can, however, easily adapt these tut's to any version. A bit of lateral thinking is needed, that's all. Tools may be in a different location or have a different name. The real difference, when it comes to tutorials, is the workspace arrangement, PI prior to PI 11 had two, since PI 11 you can configure your own. PI 12 has 5 standard ones and you can configure your own as well. I basically work in the advanced workspace and have modified the menu bar to suit my needs.
