Intro

Post by cubaboy »

I'm new to this video malarky and I in desperate need of assistance. What I want to do is have a short video intro (like the universal globe or the MGM lion) and then go to the main menu. Can anyone direct me to a walkthrough guide or explain very slowly how to do this??

Welcome to the forum. Please start by reading the Recommended Procedure (link below), which explains how to avoid problems. There are links here to find a wealth of Turorials and user experiences.

Your intro would have to be a video file unto itself. In other words, create just your intro and render it to a video file. Now create your "movie" and render that to a video file. When you go to the Share>Create Disc stage you will choose Add Video Files and add your intro video and then your movie video files. Check the Use First Clip As Introductory Video box to enable your intro play before the menu appears.

cubaboy,

Jeff hit the nail right on the head. I do the exact same thing, which is how the program is design to work regarding this feature, and it works great every time. I have my Dolby surround sound trailers and FBI warning screen as my introductory video file. :)
Cheers,

Bryan,

Do you actually call the FBI if someone tries to pirate your video?

Jeff,

Yeh, but I can't reveal their phone number. It's top secret.

I just think its cool having it in the video. :)
