Hi,
I'm using VS9 (patched I think) which was an upgrade from VS 8 (patched) which was an upgrade from VS7 (patched).
Does the more recent program VS9 contain all the patches of the previous programs VS8 & VS7?
How can I tell which patches are installed in my VS9? Can I remove the earlier versions from my computer now?
If I upgrade to VS10 from VS9 can I then get rid of all the others and does VS10 include all previous patches of previous programs?
I'm using a P4 with XPPro- SP2
Thanks,
Dazzler

AFAIK, none of the ULEAD programs require patches from previous versions, not even the upgrades. Upgrades are full versions for all intents and purposes, all they need is the serial number of the qualifying product, a qualifying product being installed on your machine or the installer file (setup.exe) of the qualifying product. Which of the ones are needed depends on the program and version.
When you patch a program, usually the version number changes. For instance, I have MSP 7 patched with SP3, the version number changed from 7.0 to 7.3. Not sure what the basic version of VS 9 is, never used it, but if the version number is something like 9.0, chances are there was no patch applied.
No, you do not need all the old versions installed on your machine. You can remove any you don't want anymore.

Patch identification
Hi Mr Ulead,
Guess it's time to add update and patch information to the Ulead VideoStudio About menu, it will help keep confusion down to a low howl.

Dazzler
