Inserting Html

Post by lovelyd »

PhotoImpact 11
windows xp
I am re-designing my website and I need to add html

first problem I can not copy html from another program or internet and paste it into photo impact as I can do with microsoft publisher. :x

second problem which brought me here today and yesterday.
I get and error message when trying to insert html.
I made screenshots of the pics but can't upload them here !!(that's helpful)
The error message says "failed to create dynamic html component. Please make sure that you have install internet explorer 5 or above". :x
The error message appeared again after I upgrade to internet explorer 7 from six. So I uninstalled seven and I am still getting the error message.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but are you aware that PI is not actually a html editor?

Whilst you can create web sites with PI, it is limited it what it can do. I have never used PI for any web site work but I'm certain that your problems are to be expected, given that PI is predominantly an image editor.

Yes, I am aware that photoimpact is just a photo editor however, if it has an include html function so it should work.

I purchased impact 10 and 11 if it did not include some html capabilities I would not have purchased 11.

It had been working fine and I expect software I "purchase" to keep working.

You can still create web pages in PI. You can also create functional buttons etc with component designer but you cannot expect PI to import some html text and reflect the changes in the underlying html to impact on your image.

I'm sorry if my remarks offend you, that's not my intention but, if you wanted a html editor you should have bought such a program and not an image editor.

Once you have created your html from your image, you can load it in Notepad or any other text editor to add any html you want. Just don't expect your PI image to reflect these changes to the html.

As far as I know, PI will convert an image to html but not the other way around.

May I ask how you managed to paste HTML code into PI? The only way I know to edit any HTML created with PI is
File>Open from Web>Image, then navigate to the HTML document, select an image on the document, then select Open Original. PI then opens the .UFO if you saved your webpage while you were creating it as a UFO.

Other than that, like Heinz-oz stated, PI is not an HTML editor. So to edit your HTML you either need to open the UFO file PI created or use a Text editor, or an HTML editor.
