Can VS9 slow down a PC even AFTER you exit program ?

Post by ghoofie »

I've noticed that after I'm doing using VS9 on my PC with 512mb memory, even though the computer seems to run 'ok', when I shutdown my PC, if I have been using VS9, the computer takes much longer to go through the complete shutdown cycle, as if VS9 still was hanging on the resources after the program seemingly exited. Anyone know of anything
possible like this ? VS9 works flawless while it's running. Just an observation I've noticed.

If your system is set up like mine, clearing out temp files prior to shutting down, I would expect it to take a little longer after having used a video editor. An NLE relies heavily on temp files for preview renders etc.

Plus you can also check in Task Manager to see if in fact vstudio.exe might still be running in the background and thus has to be terminated when you shut down the computer.
