Transition audio

I'm a new user to Videostudio8. When I apply a transititon it cuts out the first bit of sound of the audio track of the new clip(the sound that was on the video) . Is there anyway of overcoming this as there is important information on this track. ie I need the sound on the start of the 2nd clip not the sound at the end of the first clip

Any help appreciated.

I have the same problem with the mpeg after using 'Share/Create Video File'. I can only overcome it by turning off 'Perform SmartRender'.

Do you mean that the sound on the second clip does not play until after the transition has finished?
If this the case----- have you installed the VideoStudio 8 Update Pack (Build Number: 8.01Try this link

Yes this is what I mean. However when I install the update packs I get the message "Cannot find videostudio 8, Video Toolbox 2" How does one get this. I installed Videostudio 8 from a CD & as far as I am aware have installed everything on the CD.

You do not need the toolbox update patch.

You need either:-

VideoStudio 8 SE Update Pack
(Build Number: 8.01, Release Date: 2004/10/22)

or
I think this is the one for the CD version

VideoStudio 8 Update Pack (Build Number: 8.01, Release Date: 2004/09/06)
