Well Devil, should you back up to some of my prior 'rants' within this thread, you may see that I am trying to EXPORT TO DVD AUTHORING, a rendered file, on the timeline. This did so without troubles with MF 4.

After being advised MF 5 would allow a lot more of the things I was hoping to do, I bought and with a considerable amount of trouble was able, with some help from my friends here, to install it and make available to MSP 8.

However, MF 5 does NOT, as one would assume from all other software experiences, seem to be an upgrade or follow-on to MF 4....But, a stand-alone program. So, will not accept the file from MSP 8. Nor, the DVP file on disk.

This "Little time" makes almost a year now... I'm a little slow...

"Maybe a little time understanding what goes on when you have video in a computer would be better than wasting time on unreasonable rants??? "

Merry Christmas,

Of course MF5 is a stand-alone application. So is MF4 and MF3 and so on. So will be future versions. So is DVD Workshop2, the pro authoring program from Ulead. The version of MF4 shipped with MSP8 is not the standard version of MF4 but was adapted for simplicity, with some parts cut out.

I don't have any problem when I use MSP8 followed by WS2 for authoring. I use the Switch function (which I imagine should work with MF5, as well) and import the DVD-compliant MPEG-2 file I generated in MSP8. I can then add menus (chapters imported from MSP8), subtitles etc and burn straight off.
