VS10+ timeline does not show frames

Post by jkftiger »

I've searched and searched for the answer to what must be a common question but didn't find the answer.

I'm putting clips in the timeline and setting the zoom to the maximum value, but I do not see the individual frames of my clip in the timeline as shown in the documentation. Instead what I get is the first frame followed by a gray box that extends the length of the clip.

I've tried clips from VS10 itself, as well as DV clips and HDV clips. Nothing works.

I assumed that there would be a Preference to control this but I wouldn't find anything that looked correct.

What obvious thing am I missing?

File/Preferences (or F6)

Check the value you have for Clip Display Mode (I think you want Thumbnail only)

Thanks everyone for the reply! I did look at that preference when I was looking at the
setting myself but it didn't strike me that that was they thing to change.

Thanks again!
