Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 Launching Problem

Post by mitman49 »

I click on my Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 Launcher Icon which opens up Launcher 5.0. I click on "New Project", select the "DVD" format, and click ok. It closes the launcher for a while and shows the loading bar. Then the launcher comes back, but the loading bar is still active. It stays active for a while until finally closing and showing nothing but the launcher. I've tried creating a new project with the other formats, which don't work either. In addition, I have also tried re-installing the entire program and repairing it. My operating system is Windows XP Version 2002 with Service Pack 2. I have 3.40 Ghz and 1.00 GB of RAM. Please help me with my problem and email me or reply to this topic if you have any solutions or need more information.

Programs fail to launch on screen

Post by renegades »

My problem is exactley the same as the initiator of this thread. I have 5.3. When selected my launch window opens but when I select a task, the launch window closes then reopens without opening the task. I tried lauching Movie Factory without the launcher and the program will not load. None of the movie factory programs would load. I have twice uninstalled this product as a possible solution but both times failed to correct the problem after reinstalling movie factory. I see the processes in task manager open and running, but nothing on screen. I have an nivda 7600 video card. This problem started to occur around Dec 5-8 2006 and I have been unable to use this product since. Microsoft did a major revision of updates around that time and so did nvida and creative. I am wondering if an update is causing the problem and how to correct it.

Try the Windows System Restore to before you installed your updates.
(It is reversible if it doesn't work)

Program does not work

Post by renegades »

I wish I could use the restore function, but it has been a month now too many additions to the computer plus I don't think microsoft has that many days memory with restore, I don't get it, the process loads, I see it in task manager, but I don't see it on the screen. Strange. I got plenty of ram and hard disk space, a new computer top of the line, no problems with any other programs. I have uninstalled it three times now following the instructions and reinstall but same problem.

Movie Factory Does Not Work

Post by renegades »

Now even the launch manager does not show up. Dual Boot a computer to use for video, I would have to purchase new O/S at $199. I have seen numerious complaints about this on the web, I would expect intervideo to come up with some patch to fix the problem insteade of restore, dual boot, reinstallation (which does not work) solutions. I would come to expect more from this multi-million dollar company. I don;t believe that my problem is complex just something probably to do with activation I believe. Just another company trying to stop piracy, making it difficult for the registered users. Microsoft, Roxio, Norton, Webroot and many others requiring online activitation have not come up with one that works properly, yet.
