What's the best video capture card

Post by cliffj »

I need to install a video capture card for use with Video Studio 9. Can anyone recommend a good card to get? My graphics adapter card is a
32 MB NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 4x. Thanks for any suggestions.

This question comes up on a weekly basis, and you could do a search for an answer. Here's one link, though, from about a week ago, which contains a few thoughts http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 1525#91525

And you will see from this one that I think highly of the Adstech DX2 device mentioned in that post http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 8422#88422 mainly because it provides a hardware chip which does all the hard work instead of the computer, and does so at a reasonable price. However, as you will see from my post, there are a variety of other possibilities you should consider as well, depending on your wishes and your pocket!

Just thought I'd add that I have the Adstech DX2 and I really like it.
I have never had any problem of any kind doing any kind of capture.
The external box is small and was pretty cheap.

Ken, I checked out the Adstech DVD Xpress DX2 on your suggestion, and I think it's just what I'm looking for. I have already dropped some very broad Christmas hints to my spouse (including specific online ordering instructions from New Egg). Thanks a million for your help. Cliff
