I can only guess, but I think your hard disk is full because you filled it up. You may have to delete files you dont need or, better still, get another hard disk.

You have given us almost nothing concrete to work on. First, we need to know something about your computer: how big is your hard drive? Are there any other hard drives on or connected to you computer? What is the operating system?
And as for the video element, exactly what have you been loading on your computer, and how? What is your camera -- is it a mini DV model or something else? Are you capturing in DV format or something else?
If you are capturing DV, are you aware that 1 hour of DV will fill 13 GB on your hard drive, so if you are capturing more than one tape and have a small hard drive, it will naturally very quickly fill up.
In order to be able edit your video files, the computer will also need at least the same volume of spare space to have room for temporary files and such.
Have you gone to My Computer or Windows Explorer to try to delete some of the captured video or at least move it to another drive if you have one?
