how to disable preview mode in the timeline?
I'd like to disable the "preview" mode that sets the segment to be played during editing (with F3 and F4). I just want to play from wherever the cursor is. I think this was how it was working until I accidentally entered preview mode somehow and now it's driving me nuts F3 and F4ing all the time...

Hi
I do not use this function but this may help.
Is it the red preview line you want rid of.
Click the word ¡¥Preview¡¦ adjacent to the play button.
Drag the trim-bars under the preview screen to the left edge and right respectively.
This should remove the red preview indicator.
Or
using the navigation buttons move the curser to the first frame, Hit F3
using the navigation buttons move the curser to the last frame, Hit F4

F3 and F4 are the shortcut keystrokes for Mark-In and Mark-Out respectively. In Project Mode they act to set the Preview Range, which is very useful in large projects. Doing as Trevor suggests will remove those so you can preview your entire project, or just start from where your cursor/playhead is located. I use this method of previewing quite often, so that I can get a High Quality preview of what I've done...
