Question About Splitting

I'm a brand new user.

I just captured some video/audio from my video camera.

I would like to slice up the video portion into sections so that I can fly in other video clips, however I want to leave the original audio in tact. What is the best way to accomplish this?

Put your video in the top track and leave it there intact, add the other 'cut-away' sections of video into an overlay track and mute their soundtrack,

Frank, ...one more option for you. After you have captured your video file in UVS, you can drop the file into the music timeline and click on "share" and save it as a [b]sound file
