Audio/Music Beats repeated when they shouldn't be

Post by monkeytastic »

Last question, for now

When I place all my 3 minute edits (rendered as DV files) onto 1 timeline and render all into a 70 minute DV file, some of the music doesn't work properly i.e. at the end of one section a couple of beats are repeated when they shouldn't be there. On another occasion, a word is repeated.

Need to get this thing finished by Friday, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. You haven't told us enough about what you are doing, Read http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=8961 and do everything it says
2. Which version MSP?
3. How did you introduce your music, from what format? If MP3, convert it to WAV first.

Maybe you struggled above a bug of msp, which I noticed sometimes:
If you scrub in the timeline you may hear sound at wrong positions. Seems to happen most often after deleting part of a video in the timeline. If you switch on waveform display mode you may e.g. hear sound where the waveform displays silence. You may even hear sound past the last video! This is very irritating if you want to cut your video e.g. after the end of a sentence.
I believe it has to do with smart rendering and perhaps its also hardware dependent.
To work around I usually switch of smart rendering and force rendering of the part of video in question.
I meanwhile allways switch of smart rendering when creating the final video file. I found that this safes me more time than using it. :(

Helge.

Thanks for the interesting post.

I have converted to WAV - the relink tool was handy! I'm yet to convert to DVD but will be sure to turn off smart rendering.

Did notice when cutting that sound was different than it should have been in some instances but seemed ok when I previewed 5 seconds or so before the clip being worked on.
