Unlead DVD 3 , used to be good, but now so slow!!!! HELP!!!!

Post by ComputerDummy »

Hello!

As english is not my language , I'll try to explain the best I can....
Last week I have captured 2 of my old VHS tapes and burn the file on DVD with unleadDVD 3, with no problem at all, so quick, quality equals the original VHS.
BUT I had problem with capturing the 2nd part of my 2nd tape , i have captured without any problems , but when i wanted to burn, it took 2.30hours for a 1hour file  and the quality had been decreased! Whereas i changed nothing in my way of capturing or burning!
I had kept the mpeg file of my first videotape on my harddisk, to check if it was still slow, i did as if i wanted to burn it, all went so quick like before.
So i thought something went wrong with my file for being so slow, so i have re-capture the sequence, and tried again.... Same problem....
Why? Can someone help me?

I'm sorry this may be a big post, but it is hard to explain...

Can you try to explain the problem you had with capturing the 2nd part of your tape, this may help us produce an answer.

Your English is very good.

From the Time_Line of MovieFactory:
Right_Click on the video and select "Media Properties" or "Properties".
Post the video & audio properties of the mpeg2 file back to this thread.
The file is usually either not dvd compliant or corrupted when this happens.
.
I'll try to do it, i hope i'll be able to :?

so here's my screen grabs! I have ticked the box "Do not convert compatible Mpeg files" and it's much quicker now! But it used to be quick without ticking it :?

I believe your problem is that you've edited the clips (I can see the scissors in the clip overview). Whenever you edit the clips or enhance them (except audio), MF will encode them again if they don't match your project settings.

My guess is you need to adjust your project settings.
Or use the fast export function (if MF3 has it, like MF5 does) and replace the clips in your project with those.

Nobody can help you with capture because nobody knows what hardware you capture with. Maybe you have a special version (like MF3SE) bundled with hardware.

Anyway, if you are logged in as Administrator and the program is not in the Add/Remove list, I would suggest reinstalling the program (and the capture stuff first if it is a special version of MF3).

If that doesn't help then maybe something you've recently installed has caused problems. Or maybe a hardware fault (like memory or disk) has trashed something. Or an accidental move or rename of some system folder. Just guessing.

The capture hardware i use is this one : http://www.amazon.fr/ADS-Instant-Deluxe ... lectronics

I have managed to uninstal DVD movie factory, but now, anther problem, it soesn't detect my capture hardware anymore, I have searched with all the options, it is as if it wasn't here! So i have uninstalled my capture hadware again, then install it again, but it still doesn't work!

You can contact ADS Tech to check for the driver and capture card installation problem.

http://www.adstech.com

For DVDMF 3 SE, you can try the 300P01 patch in the following link to see if it helps.

English version:
http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp_30.htm

French version:
http://www.ulead.fr/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp_30.htm

Hope this helps.
