hi,
each time i open my pi, i get a prompted dial up connection dialog box. this is very annoying. how to get rid of it?

That's a nasty little Call Home every nthDay setting in a lot of software.
Disabling it in PI is real simple though..
Open up the Preferences Dialogue Box by going to File>Preferences>General or just pressing F6. Then on the left you will see a directory tree, each having a + beside it. If it opened on the first one, PhotoImpact, then on the Right side you see a bunch of choices. Look toward the middle for Check Ulead's Website Every____day. Uncheck this option, click OK...
If it did not open on PhotoImpact, click on PhotoImpact. You should not need to expand it to find the one you need. However while here explore all the options you have.
