Cannot get to submenus, can't save "save to disc"

Hi. I'm a newbie with 2 problems.

I'm using Video Studio 8 SE DVD. I'm burning a VCD.

PROBLEM 1: I cannot get to subchapters in the final VCD
I have 1 video file which has about 20 subchapters. I really just want to show the subchapters because having a main chapter with 1 item is silly. I created submenus and when I preview I can get to the submenus. However, when I burn the disk I cannot get to the submenus. I can only hit play for the main menu and the whole video plays. I cannot even skip to chapters. Trying to skip forward takes me to the end of the entire video.

Steps:
1. Share->VCD->Add VideoStudio Project (I now have 1 thumbnail shown)
2. Add/Edit chapters...auto...seems to work fine
3. Click "create menus" and hit next
4. Main menu has 1 thumbnail...submenus have more and look good
5. Preview- if I hit the # 1 I can see the submenus...but this is something that doesn't seem to work when I have the final CD playing.

PROBLEM 2: Once I have gone through the work above, I don't know how to save my work. All the menu setup seems to be lost once I close the create disk wizard. What's up with that?
I tried saving a .ixa file but to be honest I'm not sure what to do with that file when I want to reburn my disk later. Got any hints?
