stuck with a thumbnail on my main menu!

In the process of making my dvd menu..

Think this is a simple YES or NO answer.

Can someone please tell me, i dont want a thumbnail on my main menu page...i do want them on other pages showing my chapters though. So, is there a simple turn off procedure or am i stuck with having a thumbnail view on my main menu page?

Depends on how you've set up the DVD.
If you have a main page and a chapter menu page(s) then use a text only menu for the Main page and a thumbnail menu for your chapters page(s).

Thanks for the reply, however all well and good saying use text menu only etc...but how? Been viewing the tutorial for ages trying to find something that will simply delete that thumbnail view on my main menu.

Anyone out there know how to do this, or where to look in that Authoring a DVD.

I have VS9 btw.

Hi

From the burner module, after creating the chapter points.
Next
Select Advanced
Un-check-Add title Menu.

When you view---the chapter menu will show first. The main menu page will not be displayed.

Option only available when using one video

Thanks Trevor for the reply. Tried what you said, however, i then lose the main menu altogether...ideally want to keep the fancy intro ive put together...just want to lose the automatic thumbnail that pops up.

As it stands i really want a main menu saying, click here for chapter selections and click here to play movie.....then having 2 or 3 other pages with the chapters on. Just at the moment it looks odd having a little thumbnaill playing the first few secs of my movie thats all.

On a side issue, did try to HIDE a few of the 15 chapters...once burned...i notice when i play the thing! the 2 chapters ive hidden..the dvd skips over!!! so annoying!! why why why does it do this. Only wanted to hide a few so that they dont clog up the other menu pages...didnt expect it to mess up and miss out totally once you play the dvd. They are there, but have to rewind/f.forward to see them..so anyone watching for the first time will only see a big jump in the action.

drives me mad.
