MOV File problem, No Audio When Creating ISO file
i dont know where to begin but here i am
I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ7 Lumix and i can record videos with audio.
When i pass it to my computer, is automatically a MOV file.
The video and sound is perfect.
I install my Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5 to create a dvd for my family
I create it with menu, each menu has it's own music as a background
There are 6 different sections of the menu, each with two diff videos.
When i go to preview it ( with the remote control that Ulead has on its own) the music that i have as background, plays perfctly and then i play all the videos individually ( there are 12 diff videos) and the video and the sound plays withouth a problem.
So i left all night converting those files as ISO and not burning it right away. Came next day and it finished.
i went to preview it with power dvd and the music that i have as a background for each part of the menu, plays without a doubt BUUUUTTT
when i go to play the video indeed... there is no sound at all, only video movement..
I talked to a friend about and told me to convert it into avi
so
MOV to AVI
i Did and the video is horrible so i really would like to stick with the MOV file
i aslo convert
MOV to MPEG
Horrible sound and horrible video
So please help me out here..... Ulead is a great program but i don't what's up. im probably missing a step..... I would really appreacited your help....
thanks so much

2 Diff options i tried
I need ppl to know what im doing
when i convert my
MOV files to AVI
they were twice as big (converting it with MOV converter)
so i'm not going to be able to use all the AVI files on my project
like i was with the MOV files
Now i did two diff test, if you notice at the end , there are the options
My first test i tried to:
Create disk image & Normalize Audio
I selected both, and when i play the file, with power dvd, there was no sound in the video, but the main song of the menu played perfectly
Second test i tried to:
Create disk image
So i only selecte one option, played the file with power dvd, there was
this weird sound like a beep with air, ( cant explain) but no words of "me" talking on the video, and the main song of the menu played perfectly...
SO i tried those 2 options, so far... and no luck
please help me out.... is it possible for me to create this dvd with MOV files??????
if not..... say it right away &&&& also... could you suggest with what file should i work with, but still gets a perfect resolution and a small size of file.... and if recommened, whit what programm can i convert mov to whatever suggest..??
Thanks... is a X-mas GIft and im desesperate

Firstly don't get too concerned about the different file size between MOV and AVI. The AVI will be larger but what is important is the duration of the video (e.g. 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours etc.) I wouldn't try squeezing more than 2 hours worth onto a standard 4.3GB DVD disc otherwise your quality will suffer.
When you create a DVD all the videos are converted into MPEG2 format irrespective of the source material.
You can try converting your MOV files beforehand into MPEG2 format with some software like 'Super' found in our links to FREE stuff.

Hi Canelita,
I don't work with MOV files, so I probably won't provide any further answers. But I'll mention 2 ideas...
It sounds like MF is having trouble with the embedded audio in the MOV files.
First try it without Normalize Audio, so MF doesn't check all the volume levels and doesn't adjust/rerender again.
Next try exporting just the audio in the MOV files (with other software, not MF), converting and saving as separate 48KHz 16bit stereo PCM WAV files with no compression.
After importing the MOV files into MF, use Enhance on each clip, just add its background audio, and disable the original audio (not the volume slider, but the mute button).
The results will probably now have audio because MF will be using the standard PCM audio instead, which it understands.
Hope it helps.

THanks so much for replying
sjj1805 if you suggest for me to work with mpeg files
i do have them convert into mpeg files. i did it a while back.
so
MOV to MPEG
and it got really small... the size of the video such as width and height, got messed up
like when i create the iso file, the video is either
to wide or to strech i don't know.... and when i convert it and play just the mpeg alone, the video seems fine, so im missing a step here.
one example is a mov video size of 996 mb of 12 minutes. convert it to mpeg of 156 mb
now playing the mpeg video, forget it our faces looks like i dont know lol... the point of the video is to send a clear video for our family to see us
( they haven't see us for more than 8 years so is a x-mas gift)
then i decided to convert
MOV to AVI files
but forget it. the avi file are huge.....
like the video of the 996mb now is almost 2gb
so forget it i don't know why, it should be smaller. but i convert it with the program
MOV CONVERTER
so i trew that option to the garbage.....
So what should i do.
the avi is to big and the voice does not match the mouth movement
the mpeg our faces is blurry
mov wont work with ulead.....
snoops
Any suggestion of a program that i can use for me to export the audio?
im getting really sad about this i thought it was going to be easy ....
thanks again everybody

Don't know if this will help, but I just now checked and found out that your camera is a Digital Still camera. I should have realized that when reading that the video was in the MOV format.
I have Kodak's EasyShare P880, that can also record video. It too uses the MOV format, and the Motion JPEG compression. The Motion JPEG or MJPEG codec, is not a free by itself. It can be purchased here:
http://www.leadcodecs.com/Codecs/LEAD-MCMP-MJPEG.htm
However most manufacturers that use this include it with the software. Your camera should have some software package that allows you to transfer your images, and video to your PC. Install that part of the software if possible. Kodak allows this, and the MJPEG codec is installed. VS uses this when I insert a MOV clip from my camera. Thus it plays perfectly, sound and video.

now i did it before but the avi files were like 3 times bigger and the sound and video resolution were horrible
so with the program i got
i convertered anyways from MOV to AVI
