ARABIC FONTS

Post by ab1 »

I am experiencing a problem with my arabic fonts when i try to insert them into the title. I am using Ulead Video Studio 10 Plus.
My fonts are installed on my windows system and i can see arabic pages on internet explorer also use arabic font in word.

Is this a problem with UVS10 plus support for arabic/Unicode fonts or is there a way on how to overcome the problem.

Many thanks

The fonts should work, perhaps VideoStudio doesnt like the current set you have installed. There are some links to FREE fonts here:
Links to FREE stuff perhaps you could try installing an alternative one.

Thanks Steve for your reply.

i have more than twenty set of arabic fonts. and i've gone through each of those fonts to see if i can find the one that will work with UVS10plus.
In some of them, i get the arabic character recognised but not the full word if you see what i mean.
i don't know if you are familiar with arabic language writing.as an example a word is made of 4 characters is shown on a title screen as a 4 broken individuals characters reversed in order and not joined which does not make any sense in arabic language.i.e:
"حفل " this word looks different from " ل ف ح" Althgh it looks correct in my title timeline.
thank you again for your reply and for the wealth of inforamtion you are sharing.

Unless anyone can come up with an alternative then, the only other thing I can suggest is to use an image editor such as PhotoImpact or Photoshop and create your text perhaps on a transparent background and then place it on top of the video using the overlay tracks.

That it is exactely what i am using at the moment to overcome the problem. but it is not the same as inserting the text directly to the title of UVs10 plus. the lack of arabic support on a program take the fun of implementing the text animation and so on.it seems the problem is the same in Cool 3D as well.
