PI 12 on Vista

Post by dr3w2k »

PI 12 seems to work fine with Vista RTM but I am having a problem opening .ufo files that I have saved from previous versions. PI locks up if I try to open a .ufo file. Even Windows has problems with the .ufo files. I do not get a thumbnail preview if I am browsing a folder and I can't even move or delete the file unless I first use a program like Unlocker which "unlocks" the file from Explorer and then I can delete the files. Is this a known issue and can we except an update once Vista is officially released? Thanks.

Ulead has made known that it is working on making it's latest products compatible with Vista. So yes, they will, when that happens is unknown..

There is little point in debating current issues with Vista when it is still in Beta format. Perhaps you should mention any issues with Vista in the Vista Beta Users forum.

Poorly designed software

Post by mectron »

It's funny that when a new operating system comes out, it is very easy to point out extremly poorly made software such as PI 12. How can you make a product so dum as he cannot read it owns format. You can create and edit any photo format in PI 12 except it's onw native formet (UFO). What kind of *** file format is it to be the ONLY ONE PI 12 cannot read under vista. PI 12 lock the file so tight that it cannot be move, delete, rename or write, once it is writed to HD it is there until you reformat. This is not a question about vista been beta (it is not anymore) it a question for Ulead on how that menage to make such a *** non-compatible with ANYTHING file format. I use to like PI 12. but now it sank in at the bottom of the barrel. Does not even worth the demo download.

Shame on you Ulead. You use to make good product, but now... well your nothing more then a as been

And I suppose it worked correctly on the now relatively bug free windows XP System you had before.

Shame on you Microsoft for inventing yet another bug ridden operating system.

Let's see I believe when PI-12 was being developed that Ulead could not get their hands on Vista, because Microsoft was not close to releasing it. I just don't understand why Microsoft would not let companies like Ulead have Vista so they could build their programs to work with it. I think Ulead was going to have PI-12 work with Vista, but tired of waiting. After all Microsoft delayed an extra year. So maybe Ulead just should have waited around to see what the almighty Microsoft was going to produce before releasing anything...hummm... Nope, not so much :)

InterVideo Ulead is working closely with Microsoft on Windows Vista development.

There will be Vista compatible versions (or update packs) for Ulead main-stream products (including PI 12) and they will be released soon.
